This mod isn’t very complex. It’s a singular patch file that allows NPCs, vanilla OR modded, to shift through their available dialogue lines instead of only repeatedly saying one.
I am a sucker for dialogue diversity and often write too many dialogue lines for NPCs. I searched the workshop for a mod that does this for general NPCs and not just crewmembers, but I couldn’t find anything. If you enjoy true random dialogue, this is the mod for you!

Though, it does kind of change the "feel" of NPCs. When NPCs can only say one line in a village, it makes each villager feel unique in their own way, you know? But with this change, NPCs won’t feel as unique, as they could go through every single dialogue line (if you keep spam-talking to them, at least).

This also affects NPCs that have diverse dialogue choices.

  • Example: If a modder has various lines referring to either a wife, husband, girlfriend, or boyfriend, the NPC may shift through all of these lines – which is confusing!
  • Example 2: If a modded race NPC has various reactions to another vanilla or modded race, they could go through every single opinion. From hate, to love, to neutrality.

Those are two unfortunate downsides to completely random dialogue. It’s up to you to weigh whether or not the positives outweigh the negatives.

This mod is uninstall friendly! If you don’t like the changes, just uninstall at any time, and NPCs will go back to saying one line over and over.
