The main version of LES overwrites files in their entirety, which causes many compatibility issues with other mods. Also, even small updates to CK3 usually break the mod. Since game version 1.5 or so, this has been the only way to prevent the game from randomly loading the vanilla version of the events instead of the modded ones. Nobody I’ve asked has any clue why this happens.
This version overwrites individual file segments, maximising compatibility but leading to less stability. The mod sometimes works, sometimes it doesn’t, and sometimes only half the events actually get overwritten. Only use LES Light as a last resort.
Given the way LES Light overwrites events, it should never need an update and be backwards compatible down to the very first version of CK III.
