Description:

Sonic’s the name, speed’s the game! His ability to cancel aerials into Quick Homing Attacks allows you to perform flashy combos!

This is the result from a silly bet that I spent far too much time procrastinating on.
People disliked sprite rips due to bad animations and laziness, so I wanted to prove that a sprite rip can have good anims.

It’s a little WIP because I don’t have money to comission anyone for portraits… Keep reading for a FAQ.

Q: Are you making sprite rips now?? What happened to Mechlair and other clones?
A: Don’t worry, this might be the only one of its kind. It was pretty much a joke lol.

Q: So you won’t make any more sprite rips?
A: I might, if people actually like this Sonic. No promises, though.

Q: How does Quick Homing Cancel (QHC) work?
A: It’ll home super quickly to the last player you hit’s location as long as they are in hitstun. You’ll then hit them again and be able to cancel it into another move.
If you start the move while they’re already not in hitstun, you won’t home at all. If their hitstun ends while you’re trying to reach them, you’ll slow down. Both scenarios send you to helpless state.

Q: Right… but how do I do it?
A: Check the in-game i button on the CSS. Hold attack button (or a C-Stick) during an aerial until its endlag starts. You’ll do it on endlag frame 1 if said aerial hit the opponent.

Q: I main Sonic in Smash and this Sonic is missing tech!
Sure, hmu with the tech and explain how to do it, and it’s getting added.

Q: Why doesn’t D-Air spike?
A: Sonic players fishing for cheap spikes like that was pretty annoying. Aerial Down-B might do the same job, but it kills you if you misuse it.

Q: Brawl D-Smash? Seriously?
A: Yes.
