Tails
Sonic’s trusty sidekick has joined the fray in Rivals of Aether to prove he can kick some tail! Tails is both a rush-down and glass-cannon character simultaneously. He relies on his amazing mobility both in the air and on the ground to string long combos together or even lead to cheesy early kills offstage. However, you must always keep in mind that Tails does not have the greatest range, is very light, and dies at very early percents. He has multiple jumps, and an overall good recovery, but is very prone to getting edgegaurded.
Specials
– NEUTRAL SPECIAL: ENERGY BALL
Tails pulls out an arm cannon and shoots a slow projectile that launches the opponent in your general direction, in order to start combos.
– SIDE SPECIAL: AIR LIFT
Tails lunges forward, grabs the opponent, flies off with them for a bit, and tosses them away. It can be charged, and you can move somewhat while the opponent is still in your grasp. Used as a good mixup tool.
– UP SPECIAL: SPRING
Similar to Sonic’s spring, only it’s shorter. When used in the air, the falling spring has a hitbox.
– DOWN SPECIAL: SPIN DASH
A self-explanatory spin dash. Press down special once to initiate the spin charge, and press special again during the spin charge to dash. This move is jump cancelable and is used as a fast burst option.
