Description:

The HypeTrain mod adds fully functional player-driven trains to DayZ. Attach different types of cargo wagons to transport passengers, items, and liquids around the map. Additionally, you can place containers such as barrels and other base-building items on the wagons to turn your train into a mobile base.
Key features:

  • Vaulting, walking, jumping, ladder climbing, etc. all supported while moving and even between wagons!
  • Physical item transport (not just a virtual inventory)
  • Very close to real-life simulation of train physics. Be aware of inclines!
  • Fully custom and immersive sound design for all aspects of the train
  • Interactable, automatic level crossings


Installation / Setup
Dedicated Server

Add the mod to your server and copy the keys folder content into yours.
The mod does NOT come with full example files for the central economy setup yet.
You can use the included example mission files as a quick and easy way to spawn in a train setup, even if you already have persistence data.
It is also possible to spawn them via your choice of admin tools.
Please refer to the pinned discussion section for a list of all the relevant class names!

Singleplayer

If you just want to play around with the mod in singleplayer you can use the official launcher → Parameters → All Parameters → Advanced → Mission, and select one of the missions that come with the mod e.g

Roadmap / Contact

I intend to update this mod for a few years to deliver bug fixes, performance improvements, and new features based on user requests. There are many things planned like advanced base building options, reinforcing the train for combat, and new types of trains such as hand-driven pump carts.

FAQ
Is the mod ready to be used on my live server?

It depends! The mod is currently still in BETA state. Until all known bugs and balancing concerns are resolved and the performance could be tweaked, I can not recommend running it on a high population server. If you have a test server or are only playing with a smaller group it is worth checking out though. A persistent multiplayer experience is generally supported already.

Should I be using the init.c files from the example missions on my server?

NO! Those are for demo testing. Please consider properly setting up train spawns through the central economy. All class names can be found in the discussion section: Class names and central economy

What maps are supported?

Currenlty only ChernarusPlus, Enoch and Namalsk are supported. However, I will be updating the tooling and work with map authors to get support for their maps in as well.
