After the End Fan Fork – How A Man Shall Be Armed
A mashup of personalized armor for the fantastic After the End Fan Fork, other clothing remains untouched. Made chiefly by the help of AGOT portraits, and assets already contained, I didn’t actually do very much. I had hoped to make more regional armors reflect the distinct nature of the new cultures presented, and to add general variety. This of course assumes they still have advanced metalworking.
This was just a personal project that came together over time, I figured I’d share. I was going for an Old West Dark Souls kinda thing, I really liked the idea of classic Americana evolving within the context of post-apocalyptic medievalism. Think vagabond knights, with mock-chap leather cuisses branded by coats of arms, and brass-trimmed plate mixed with lamellar, for mobility on the range. Besides environmental and lifestyle factors, the idea was that they would influence each others evolution, either in opposition to, or in syncretism with. For example, the nobles of the Caribbean might utilize colorful geometric, almost gaudy, enamel patterns on their helms; while Southrons may have a more traditional European utilization of ostentatious form, as the Holy Roman Emperors did before. Cowboys sport Mexican influence, and mountaineer attire is tailored to travel. With Appalachia I went for a Southern Gothic Transylvania (haha) aesthetic with sharp nickle ornamentation.
I’d recommend you use the DLC portrait submods as they’re required for the Natives to work, but the rest will stand without.
