Description:

This submod is intended for use with the Crusader Wars mod project but will work with anything so long as it is placed at the top of your load order.

What does it do?

The mod alters combat values depending on terrain type and adds a few additional effects.

For example, cavalry and mounted units will move very fast on an open plain but will suffer from movement and combat debuffs in forest and scrub.

Ranged infantry can move quickly through forest.

All units now have melee buffs against cavalry and elephants in forest and scrub terrain.

What this means?

Movement and engagement will become much more of a priority on the battlefield. Instead of charging your cavalry head on into a forest full of light infantry, you might reconsider.

Similarly, river and water crossings will take about 40% longer, movement in snow is slower, cavalry and elephants have movement bonuses on roads and desert, whereas infantry and light infantry move better across stone and scrub.
