==Akritai ==
The Akritai is a term used in the Byzantine Empire in the 9th–11th centuries to denote the frontier soldiers guarding the Empire’s eastern border, facing the Muslim states of the Middle East.
Entrusted to guard the Christian frontier against Muslim raids they were primarily light infantry complimented by light cavalry for a quick response to any raid from across the border. I thought it would make a good idea for an Orthodox holy order who defends the faith against its enemies.
Available from all start dates. I plan to add supplementary holy orders to most faiths.
Should be compatible with most mods but alas though not Ironman compatible.
