Ultra Instinct
Trespass into the domain of the gods, and use that might to conquer your foes!
I know what you’re thinking, and no. This buddy is NOT a cheap power-up to take on a certain clown. Rather, it’s a side-grade from your normal playstyle that exchanges health for more options, both defensive and offensive. There’s a lot to cover, so I’ll list all the changes below.
THE PERKS:
- Auto Dodge: If you take damage, you’ll shrug off any knockback and dodge away!
- Turbo Mode: Cancel any attack on hit!
If Turbo is already enabled in the match settings, you can cancel any move into itself as well! - Dodge Cancel: You can cancel any move into dodge, even on whiff.
- Jump Cancel: You can cancel any move into jump, as long as you hit it. This does not count as a double jump, either, so you can hypothetically combo your opponents up to the blast-zone like an Umbra Witch.
- Super Armor: All attacks have super armor until you reach 66% damage.
THE DRAWBACK:
- 66% Health: Ultra Instinct is exhausting, and if used without care, can backfire horribly. Once you’ve taken more than 66% damage, you’ll lose all of your abilities and jump all the way up to 999%! This is the main drawback of the Buddy, and stands as a good incentive not to abuse the Super Armor.
This Dragon Ball-inspired mod is about risk and reward. You need to be good at dodging out of your attacks and minimising the damage you take. If you’re experienced enough with the turbo mode, however, you can potentially obliterate stocks in seconds.
Hints:
- The lack of any knockback is a blessing, but it can also be a curse if your opponent knows how to exploit it.
Known Issues:
- Particles don’t appear in Practice mode. (This was to prevent a crash.)
Credit:
- The outline was from Lukaru’s Trans buddy.
- The particles were inspired by Sai’s effect, but I made my own sprites.
