516舰是特殊的登陆火力支援轻巡洋舰中的特型，053DL的意思是053-登陆，是一种9500吨轻巡方案，吃水极浅，专用于支援冲滩，相关介绍如上方链接。而053DLH意思是053-登陆-火箭。
Type 053DLH was a yet special variant of the specially designed 053DL. 053DL means light cruiser tasked for landing fire support, while 053DLH means light cruiser tasked for landing fire support with rockets. The story of 053DL can be found in the original entry.
相较于053DL，053DLH拆除了B、X炮塔和两座副炮，分别安装370mm和122mm多管火箭发射器。
In comparison to 053DL, 053DLH removed B and X turrets as well as secondary 100mm guns and installed 370mm and 122mm MLRS.
516舰是“东海岸牵制袭扰编队”的一员，该编队被称作“铁雨云团”。

关于516舰武器试验轶事：
053DL系列，为渡海登岛作战用军种联动特制舰，建筑高大，空间阔绰，就是为了为来自陆军、额外的炮观通联人员提供工作与住宿空间。516进行武器试验时，海军邀请陆军人员乘坐直升机来到舰上观摩。在火箭准备发射前，陆军人员发现按照该舰的橡胶救生浮筏，全部安装在原来位置，便提出火箭弹尾焰可能会点燃救生浮筏，但是巨大的发射噪音掩盖了他们的意见……随后，陆军人员一并观摩了海军舰艇兵在B、X炮台以及二层甲板起火时的损管演练。
The anecdote about her weapon trial:
Type 053DL was famous for her large superstructure and spacious interior. It was designed to accomodate extra artillery support communication observation crew from the PLA Army. Before weapon trial, the PLAN invites PLAA personnel onboard via helicopter. The PLAA found it dangerous that the flames of rocket launching would burn the life rafts that is secured conventionally. However, the deafening sound of rocket firing made their concern inaudible. After which PLAA personnel watched another drill: damage control and fire fighting of B, X barbette and 2nd floor deck.
