Neighborhood Watch
April 6th: Reverted to previously, most stable version. The new button just isn’t as stable as we need. Everything is managed via the Notification Icon once again. You may access the Notification via clicking on any colonist.
Declare your VIPs and check in on them at will. Be notified of their death, and remember them long after they’re gone. All of this is possible with Neighborhood Watch.
This mod is partner to another mod that is still in progress. Keep your eyes open for the Martian Tribune! I hope you enjoy it, and if you do, please come back and leave a note of what you enjoyed most in the comments below!
1. Add/remove VIPs via the custom button in the colonists infopanel (colonist with 5 stars around it).
2. You access the VIP list to see them all, cycle through them, view the list of the dead, all via the Notification Icon in the upper-left. It shows up when you click on any colonist.
3. To clear out the list of VIPs, or of the dead, for a new playthrough you must first "View Records of the Honored Fallen".
1. Age of Death currently displays the oldest a colonist will become before dying and is only accurate if they’ve died of old age.
2. There is only one universal save file. Because of this, it is not possible to customize VIPs across multiple saves concurrently.
March 31st: added the option to clear out the VIP and Dead lists individually or altogether, as well as colonist-by-colonist in the case that you accidentally assigned them the status. Also resolved bug with 1st colonist selected not showing their age at initial glance.
April 2nd: added translation compatibility. Updated message popup to incorporate more diverse and representative images. Removed shift declaration from general popup info line in hopes of reducing it to just one line per colonist. Changed how workplace was being determined to make locations declared more accurate and complete.
April 6th: Now the notification icon will appear either: a) you click on a colonist or b) colonists land on Mars.
I haven’t experienced many of the death effects yet. The only two that have triggered for me are Suffocation both in and out of the dome. I have updated the mod to reflect these two death conditions, but there remain many others possible. As you experience them, please make note of how the Notification declares that death and let me know in the Suggestions Discussion so that I can appropriately filter the messages into their more accurately stated counterparts!
