In the early 1930s, while designing Bismarck class battleships, the Germans designed a large cruiser that can meet the needs of the German Navy in ocean operations. They were named after class O, class E and class M respectively.
The battle cruiser Schleswig Helstein is based on the O-class cruiser and integrates the design ideas of the Battlecruiser shankhost and the heavy cruiser admiral Spey. This enables it to approach the enemy with greater mobility while equipped with heavy guns, and attack the enemy madly with dense auxiliary guns and torpedoes.
In terms of weapons, the warship is equipped with 305mm / 56 SK C39 main guns, 150mm/55 SK C 28 auxiliary guns of Bismarck and 128mmSK C/36 auxiliary guns completely overhead, while the torpedo is a 533mm quadruple torpedo of count Spey heavy cruiser. It is obvious that this warship is used for side to side combat.
