Description:

SV Class 1, CPU Tier 3, Unlock Level 15 – Vanilla and Reforged Eden

Update 1/4/2024 – Added spot lights (P-menu control) and altered bomb launcher locations. I had the bomb launchers to high in the build causing them to be blocked by the hull of the ship. I made a mistake thinking bombs fell out of the launcher however they fire out like a missile instead. I added 2 screen shots at the end of the post showing where the launchers now get added and also where spot lights were added. Thanks for info in comments!

Primary roles: Combat, Storage, Shield ready, Warp ready, Upgradable, Utility, Drone hatch

The Merc Aerospace MX-7 is was designed to be a light weight fighter/bomber. To keep compatibility with Vanilla and Reforged Eden, the MX7 was released stripped down of most parts such as weapons, shield, warp, etc. There is a P-Menu option "Upgrade info" with information on all the possible upgrade parts.

Stock Features

The Merc-MX7 comes stock with 10K ammo bay, 10K storage bay, drone hatch (P menu option), 2 cargo boxes, fridge, o2 and dispenser, armor locker, and WiFi.

Upgrade options

The MX-7 has a lot of upgrade options, or basically how do you want to load out the ship. It has locations to add a warp drive, pentaxid tank, shield, 12x RE shield parts, 1 basic and 5 advanced CPU cores, constructor, trauma station, food processor, long range radar, generators, 6 launcher style weapons, 3 turrets, and 2 RE only bomb launchers. There is a info LCD inside the ship with a list of all upgrades (P-Menu option)

With generators, you can place up to 3 1×3 RE generators by removing the 2 1×2 vanilla generators. If using all 12 shield parts you will want to have 3 RE 1×3 generators installed. Vanilla players can add up 3 additional generators keeping the 3 that are in the ship stock.

Offense and defense

The hull is built with carbon substrate and designed to rely on a shield. It has 3 turret mount locations, 6 launcher locations, and 2 bomb locations with 10K ammo storage.

Notes: Do to so many compatibility issues trying to accommodate both vanilla and RE, I ended up just stripping most every main part out of the build allowing it operate with just 2 improved cores in both vanilla and RE. So, you will have to outfit the ship how you want to. I did however test this in RE with heavy shield +12 shield parts, 3 1×3 RE generators, 4 plasma guns, 2 gatling guns, 2 minigun turrets, and 2 bomb launchers + trauma station, food processor, pentaxid tank, and warp drive and the power worked out fine using just bit below 60000 CPU (Core 9 RE).

Also, this ship was built to be thin and light but not tough. It is very much shield dependent but does offer a decent amount of shield potential with upgrade parts.

One last thing, I blacked out a strafing, reverse, and down thrusters on purpose to look a bit more like a fighter jet. I left the forward and lift thrusters exhausts visible though.
