FEATURES
_____________________________________
-UNIQUE GAMEPLAY: Caitlin’s gameplay revolves around switching between each of her four forms, and properly managing the strengths and weaknesses of each of them, while simultaneously keeping her very low sanity in check.
-QUITE RAD ART: What can I say, I think the art’s good, and I like bragging about it.
-COMPLETELY CUSTOM DIALOGUE: ProTip to all aspiring mod makers out there: Don’t underestimate how long it takes to write all the dialogue for a character. It takes a looooong time. Needless to say, every single line of dialogue has been rewritten for Caitlin.

~SPECIAL ABILITY: Shapeshifting
A thing I’ve noticed a lot of mod characters do is have some sort of ‘monster form’, usually triggered by insanity or eating meats or some other thing. Caitlin does something similar, but with a few slight differences:
1) Instead of a measly one alternate form, she has THREE alternate forms.
2) She is able to switch between those forms and her ‘normal’ form AT WILL. You can switch forms whenever the heck you like. No waiting, no cooldowns, just transforming.
Caitlin starts the game with three custom hats. Equipping any of them will cause her to change into one of her alternate forms, and she will remain in that form for as long as she keeps wearing the hat. Specifics of each form will be posted in a discussion below, but for now, here’s a brief rundown:
When not wearing one of her custom hats, Caitlin reverts to her base form. In this form, she has 110 Health, 110 Hunger, and 100 Sanity, and has few extra perks besides a very slight speed boost. This is the only form where she can wear other hats, such as the Miner Hat, Football Helmet, or Beefalo Hat.
When wearing the Doctored Mask, Caitlin enters her Attack form. In this form, she has 150 Health, 50 Hunger, and 150 Sanity. Her attack power quadruples, though at the cost of a halved attack speed. She is also completely unable to eat, heal, or sleep when in this form.
When wearing the Malignant Crown, Caitlin enters her Speed form. In this form, she has 50 Health, 150 Hunger, and 150 Sanity. Her movement speed triples, allowing her to outrun virtually everything and kite like a pro, but she is also very easily killed, and is completely unable to craft anything.
When wearing the Memento, Caitlin enters her Defense form. In this form, she has 250 Health, 150 Hunger, and 50 Sanity. She becomes incredibly sturdy, taking half damage from all attacks and regenerating 2.5 HP per second, but she also becomes painfully slow, with half her normal movement speed, and only deals 3/4 damage when attacking.
Switching between these forms comes with a cost, specifically to sanity and hunger. Make sure you transform wisely.
~Insanity
Due to her very tenuous grasp with anything resembling mental stability, Caitlin is very easily driven insane. She has a much lower sanity cap than any other character, and, in addition, drains it much faster. If that wasn’t enough, when she is insane, shadow creatures will appear more frequently, and in greater numbers, and will linger around for longer once she goes sane again.
However, this isn’t all bad. More exposure to shadow creatures means she can also gather nightmare fuel much more quickly than any other character, given she doesn’t die in the process.
Think Nightmare Fuel isn’t that great of a reward? Well…
~Nightmare Fuel and Hallucinations
Caitlin is able to eat Nightmare Fuel for fun and profit. Doing so will recover a decent amount of sanity, as well as a tiny amount of health and hunger.
She will also store any Nightmare Fuel she eats, and, upon eating eight of it, will spawn a Hallucination that will help her chop, mine, and fight for a few days before dissipating.
And… that’s about it. Have fun, and Don’t Starve.

A: It actually used to, but she got really paranoid that the W thing was all part of some massive evil government conspiracy, and so she changed it.
