Crest

Night falls, and the sky over the Godai Delta goes dark. The churning waters glimmer with the purest sheen of light. Without a single soul in sight, it’s the perfect time to go out for a ride.

Crest is a mobile and slippery fighter who can summon a moving tidal wave that acts as a platform for all players.

Crest can summon a tidal wave when using NSpecial above solid ground, as long as his meter is full. The wave will move forward and stop at the edge of the stage for a moment before disappearing. Players can waveland into the platform from beneath it. When spawning, the wave will scoop up any opposing players as it rises from the ground. The wave’s maximum height will vary based on the stage’s platform layout.

Hop forwards and summon a wave from the ground below. This move can be airdodged out of at any time, allowing you to instantly waveland on your wave.

Dive directly forward and hit any opponents in your way. On hit, this move will fully charge your meter and can be canceled into airdodge or any other special.

Quickly descend. If the special button is held, you can slide across the ground and hit anyone in your way. When you release the special button, you will hop forwards. This attack will fill half your meter on hit.

Swipe upwards and ascend. If the special button is held, prepare a downwards dive that continues until you hit the ground. If you land on your wave with this, you will bounce upwards and become instantly actionable. Fills half your meter on hit.

Crest’s origin is a mystery. Ever since the abyss was sealed away, he has been spotted making laps around the Godai Delta every night. When morning comes, he disappears without a trace.

Some believe he was exiled from his homeland (location unknown) and is searching for a way to release the seal on the Aetherial Gates. There has been speculation that he may be connected to the Black Ice that attacked the Hyperboreans. Others view Crest as some sort of benevolent moon deity, who purifies the waters he rides on, strengthening the Gates’ seal.

All attempts to catch and question him have ended in failure due to his ability to manifest gigantic waves from the Delta’s water.
