Description : Stats are shown with 100% crew, not overboosted engines. I had the idea for a Heavy Cruiser for a while and by request I’ve managed to finish it. Took a different design choice inspired by the Limen Cruiser while offering some light railgun protection with limited armour layout. The scale of the ship got a bit larger than I wanted as it’s more on the battlecruiser side of the scale than a true inbetween, but ended up being a faster and more armoured version of the Battlecruiser. Engines drain a lot of energy but there’s lots of framework to customize the ship as you want.
Finally finished the whole lineup from Corvette (system slot 3) to Battleship(system slot 9) and it feels nice to have a whole lineup now. This is maybe my favorite ship design I’ve done so far utilizing a lot I’ve learned from playing/creating ships. Thank you all for using/liking their designs. Have tried to make them as functional as possible while also having some flare.
Lore: With lessons learned from the Limen Class Cruiser, a new specialty cruiser was designed. Due to it’s size and performance it blurs the line between Battlecruiser and Heavy Cruiser. The Abyssal Class Heavy Cruiser was picked up by the covert ops division of the fleet while also serving as the flag ship for General Fazar himself. Though limited in it’s logistical capability compared to the Preeminence Class Battlecruiser, it is considered equal or superior in many combat scenarios. It’s stock design suffers from engines too powerful for it’s power plant limiting it’s boost potential.
