Iberian Kingdoms (new emergent factions for Age of Charlemagne)
This mod adds nine new emergent factions into Age of Charlemagne campaign:
– Kingdom of Galicia
– County of Portucale
– Kingdom of Leon
– Kingdom of Castile
– Kingdom of Aragon
– County of Barcelona
– County of Girona
– County of Urgell
– Taifa of Mertola
This mod aims to represent the diversity of Christian kingdoms that emerged in the Iberian Peninsula during the early Middle Ages. The new factions are not visible when you start a campaign. However, they may emerge if a rebellion happens in the northern regions of the Iberian Peninsula or if some other factions liberates them.
In the vanilla version of the game, there are eight Muslim factions in the Iberian Peninsula (Cordoba, Barcelona, Zaragoza, Valencia, Toledo, Badajoz, Seville and Granada) and only two Christian factions (Asturias and Pamplona). With this mod installed, there will be 10 Christian factions and 9 Muslim factions in the game.
The mod also changes the flags of Pamplona, Taifa of Barcelona and Taifa of Valencia (now, they look more "muslim"). It also replaces the "Gallacian Separatists" with "Visigothic Separatists" (it’s a more appropriate name considering that this is the rebel faction for all Christian Kingdoms in the Iberian Peninsula).
COMPATIBILITY
This mod changes the startpos.esf file from the Charlemagne’s campaign. This means that the mod is NOT save game compatible and it’s NOT compatible with other mods that also change the startpos.esf file from the Charlemagne campaign. However, it’s compatible with mods that change the startpos.esf file from Attila and Belisarius campaigns.
