The Type 054B guided missile frigate is a type of guided missile frigate of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army Navy. It uses newer equipment at the level of the 054A. Its displacement may be about 6,000 tons, which is about 34% more than the Type 054A. The hull is about 147 meters long, which is about 147 meters longer than the Type 054A. Type 054A is about 13 meters long, with a mid-shaped foam beam of about 18 meters, and is about 2 meters wider than Type 054A. On the evening of August 26, 2023, the first 054B ship was launched at the Hudong-Zhonghua Shipyard in Shanghai.
