Description:

The Ae 6/6 was a universal locomotive procured by the Swiss Federal Railways for traffic over the Gotthard line, a "Gotthardloki". After two prototypes, which were delivered in 1952, the SBB ordered 118 serial machines in several series. The six-axle locomotives took over practically all passenger and freight traffic over the steep Gotthard line almost immediately. As the new flagship of the SBB, the first 25 locomotives received a chrome ornamentation and the coat of arms of one of the 25 cantons. The following locomotives were then given the coats of arms of cantonal capitals and towns which had a strong connection to the railway.
With the delivery of the newer Re 6/6 and Re 4/4 III, the Ae 6/6 was also increasingly used on the rest of the SBB and other railways. All locomotives then joined the new SBB Cargo division in 1999 and were given the computer designation Ae 610. From 2001 onwards, the first locomotives were taken out of service and in 2013 the last locomotive disappeared from scheduled service. Today, several locomotives are still in working order.
The package includes ££ locomotives in various conditions.
