Description:

Standby for Titanfall. The mod adds to the game the hovering sniper titan from titanfall 2, Northstar. The titan is accurately reproduced. The mod is featuring all Northstar’s characteristics and equipment, like Cluster Missile, Tether Trap and Flight Core. The titan drop animation (Titanfall) is also included. The titan is fully AI compatible.

A short description of Northstar’s characteristics

Northstar’s weapons/abilities:

Primary Weapon: Plasma Railgun – Sniper weapon that after charging up a while, fire a powerful and fast projectile. The Plasma Railgun can attack land and air, has a minimal attack range and only do direct damage. This weapon can outrange most units from the base game, but has a low fire rate. It also push units.

Defensive Ability: Tether Trap – Deployable mine. When triggered will tie a captured enemy for few seconds. The Tether Trap is invisible for enemy when not activated (activation by an enemy unit moving near it). After activation will self-destruct after 10 seconds.

Ordnance: Cluster Missile – Missile which, on impact, deploys every half second a secondary explosive charge. The sub-explosions last few seconds. The Cluster Missile has a large area radius. The explosions also damage air units.

Tactical Ability: VTOL Hover – Allows Northstar to hover for a short amount of time. During hover, the titan will move (fly) slower than during normal walking. Northstar can still use the Plasma Railgun, Tether Trap and Cluster Missile abilities. While hovering, the titan will be vulnerable to AA weapons (will be considered an air unit).

Core: Flight Core – When activated Northstar will hover similarly as during her VTOL Hover ability, but will fire a barrage of moderately fast missiles with area damage towards the enemies. When the Flight Core is active, Northstar can not use the Plasma Railgun and any other abilities. While the core is active, the titan can attack only land targets and has a reduced attack range. During the 10 seconds, Northstar can deal very heavy damage in a short amount of time. This ability contrary to the other 3 has no cooldown, but require 100 energy (25 kills) to be activated.

Titan’s modes:

Auto Mode – In this mode Tether Traps and Cluster Missiles are used automatically. Which allows this Titan to be fully used by the AI. Also this mode helps controlling larger groups of titans.

Manual Mode – In this mode all titan’s abilities need to be selected manually. This mode allows to fully control the titan. Locked for AI.

Doomed State

When the titan’s base hp will decrease to zero, the titan will be put into the Doomed State. While in Doomed State the titan will be still able to uses his primary weapon and all his abilities, but will be not able to regen hp (shields will normally regen). The titan can not be un-doomed and when his hp decrease again to zero, will be destroyed. This state allows to keep the titan fighting a little longer.

Titan’s construction/drop

Northstar can be created/spawned on the battlefield in two ways:

In Experimental Factory ($100000) – The titan is build in this factory like every other unit.

Dropped from the air (Titanfall) ($125000) – The titan is dropped to a selected location. Titanfall takes only few seconds, but has a higher price. Enemy units/buildings, on which the titan will land, will receive very heavy damage in a medium-sized area. The titan’s drop location is selected from the Titan Drop Center.

Titan Drop Center ($50000)

This building allow to select manually the location for the titan drop. Its image look like the Watch Tower, because it can also see far throught fog of war. The Titan Drop Center building is locked for AI. The titan’s drop range is limited.

Other informations:
-Due to being not useful in RTS, the mod doesn’t feature titan’s dashes.
-The Plasma Railgun charge only on one stage (the medium one) in order to not complicate the usage of it.
-Northstar abilities have different cooldown/charging times (comparing to Northstar from TF|2) in order to balance the unit
-The mod doesn’t include the executions (termination)

Mod, despite being completed and tested, may have some bugs or technical problems. If you find any issues (e.g. balance issues) please post it in the comment section so I can find them and investigate much faster.
