Description:

Cool title, eh?

Compilation pack of all my ToB variation mods so far. NOW INCLUDES THE IRISH.

Increased shield, helmet, armour, face and hair variety across every faction.
Secondary focus after variation is realism, or at least, being historical faithful – expect to see loads more padded armour and much less mail and leather.
With respect to Tier 3 units, particularly the English ones, I have nuked the availability of mailed armour. During the Battle of Hastings, the English front rank was comprised of the Housecarls, with the Fyrd behind them. As the battle wore on and the Housecarls suffered losses, the Fyrd was used to fill the gaps and bolster the line. Now, why would Harold place the Housecarls on the front lines to begin with? My thought is that not only were they the best troops he had, but also the best EQUIPPED. Stands to reason the equipment of the Fyrd was, taken as an average, far inferior to that of the household troops. I’ve sought to reflect this supposition.

A few units haven’t been given the treatment, but I’m slowly getting round to it.

Point to note; if you want to be really faithful to history, set your unit size to "medium". Modern estimates place the infamous Great Heathen Army between 800 to 2,000 men and Alfred’s Burghal Hides detail a standing force of 5,500 levied soldiers for the whole of England – anything above "medium" and very quickly, the combined total of yours and the AI’s troops far exceeds the recruitment capability of the entire island at that time.
