Athens Reimagined (Invictus)
Are you a "tall" player who likes focusing on your economics and demographics rather than warfare and the RNG diplomacy system? Do you like playing as Greeks so you can go on naval slave raids to increase your population? Are you afraid of the colossal state that is the Antigonids? Do you want something quick and easy? This mod is for you.
"Athens Reimagined" makes a number of changes to Athens to get things going quickly, instead of 1) waiting for pops or 2) begging for smaller Greek cities not to align themselves with Macedon or the Antigonids. These changes include:
1) Annexing the entirety of Attica so you never have to think about conquering your immediate area (Antigonids and Macedon are relentless sometimes)
2) Bumping Athens to a Metropolis
3) Increasing its population and building count
4) Granting a few additional "tall" playing boosters (such as Pop Growth and Trade Routes) to an Athenian treasure.
5) Changes made to the "Athenian Democracy" government type that gives you a better edge in diplomacy.
Overall, it makes things easier, yes, but that’s the point. No more waiting 50 years to kick off your pop management simulator. Let the trade flow!
