Description:

Game Mode: Ancient Relic

This mod is Game Mode version of ‘Secret Society: Stellaris Collector’
If the secret society version of this module is also enabled, then Secret Society version will not take effect.

Ancient Relic Mode

In game setup, players can turn on the Ancient Relic game mode. Discover mysterious RELICs and release their unqie powerful abilities.
Comparing with first version of Stellaris Collector, 15 new RELICs are added synchronously.

RELICs System
  • RELICs are items independent of the original content of the game and are collected in players’ RELIC library.
  • Every RELIC has different Passive Effects and Activation Effects, as well as different acquisition probabilities and activation durations.
  • Players can find the button to enter the RELICs interface on the top left button bar, and then manage their RELICs in the interface.
  • You can preview all RELICs in Civilopedia’s Resource Page

RELICs’ Acquisition
  • Only Human Players can receive RELICs, Player will receive 2 RELICs upon spawning. Everytime Game Era changes, player will receive a RELIC. (Automatically adapt to the start era)
  • In one single game, there’s only one copy of all the RELICs. All RELICs are shared by all players. After a RELIC is found by one player, it will not be found by other players with any method afterward, even if its owner quits the world stage.
  • With the progress of Game Era, Investigating Tribal Villages, Capturing Barbarian Camps and Create Greatworks especially Artifact, they all have opportunities to discover a new RELIC.

RELICs’ Use
  • After finding a RELIC, its Passive Effect is permanently bound to the player who found it.
  • Players can activate RELICs to receive the Activation Effect for some time (20 turns default under the standard speed, with some RELICs are special.).
  • The number of RELICs activated at the same time can be boosted from the Secret Society Level, or certain RELICs, for instance, the "Psionic Archive".
  • When the Capital of one player is occupied by another player, the RELICs in activation will serve the owner of the city, until the end of its activation time.
  • Due to scripts’ limitations, player should activate RELICs when they own the capital city, otherwise their activation effect will not take effect.
  • AI players will not gain or use RELICs they owned in this Game Mode version.

Compatibility
  • Due to the complex and diverse effects of RELICs, all DLCs should be enabled, or it may lead to errors.
  • Compatible in multiplayer mode.
  • Theoretically not conflicting with other modules.

Module Expansion

This module provides a custom interface for modders to add RELICs. If you are also a community module contributor, you can create a module to add RELICs.
Please refer to the "StellarisCollector_Relic" file of this module to understand the content required for adding a new RELIC.

  • RELICs should have a name, description, and texture, allowing to set blank effect (but still requiring passive and activation descriptions).
  • You can create exclusive RELICs for other civilizations or leaders modules. Please refer to the file for the filling method.
  • For RELICs textures, they should be a strict size of 100 * 100, and although there is only one texture, it is still necessary to create an Atlas
  • The effect of RELIC is handled by the modifier. If you want to create a special mechanism for RELIC, you should handle it in the Lua script
  • The loadorder of the newly added RELICs module should be before the settlement of this module (LoadOrder is 4000000)
