The odds of events being triggered for the sole purpose of your amount of colonists increasing is 0, meaning other events will occur instead. Ideal for solo playthroughs or if you just don’t like having more colonists in general.
Examples: wanderer joins, slave traders, escape pods, release prisoner quests.
