Oversized Carriages
A technical experiment on warmachine tech skeletons and meta files, originally made for the Mod Jam 2022 5Y Anniversary: Kill your Darlings event, though this one came out unironic and less cursed than the other entries!
Adds Marauder Battle Carriage, Marauder Warshrine Carriage, and Marauder Mammoth Carriage to Norsca’s Dark Furnace (third level smith) building, and Howlers Greater Reliquae to Morrslieb’s Howlers Rogue Army faction (level three settlements only). Marauder Carriages are affected by skill tree buffs and technologies of regular Marauder Chariots.
Marauder Battle Carriage:
Large four wheeled carriage carrying five javelin throwers and one spearman in the rear, effectively a huge single entity chariot that can plow through infantry units. Made of wood and is highly flammable. Does not last long against armour-piercing units in melee or cannons.
(Probably something Chaos tribesmen of the North without access to mammoths would put together.)
Marauder Warshrine Carriage:
Moblie Chaos Warshrine made of metal that carries one spearman in the rear. Somewhat more durable in melee but lacks ranged attacks. Faster moving than Norscan Mammoth Warshrine and Chaos Undivided Warshrine but is functionally the same. Explodes when destroyed, doing damage to adjacent units.
Marauder Mammoth Carriage:
A Marauder Battle Carriage hitched to a pair of mammoths. Carries two axe throwers, three javelin throwers, and one spearman. Less armoured than the other carriages but capable of causing much more damage.
It seems like War Mammoth again with extra steps… If only Norscans are a little smaller then more of them could fit in the carriage.
Howlers Greater Reliquae:
Wooden carriage carrying three Goblin archers, a Poison Wind Globadier, a Plague Monk in the rear, and the (now moving) remains of a Grail Knight, propelled by four Flagellents driven by a Brettonian Peasant. Grants the Blessings of the Lady to nearby units and is very tough in melee but slow. Explodes when destroyed with a hint of Warpstone that does little damage but scatters most small entities around it.
(This motley collection of Skavens, Green-Things, and Man-Things banded together to craft a temple-shrine of wheels worthy of dying to protect – yes! Yes!)
Known issues:
These units are twitchy in melee, and their collision box is smaller than their visual size would suggest. Probably need to tweak land_unit_articulated_vehicles_tables and battle_entities more. Also need to add custom unit icons and porthole models sometimes down the line.
