Pandora’s Box, But Pets Are Useful!
An addon for Pandora’s Box which merges its ship pet alterations with that of the Pets Are Useful! mod, allowing you to get presents from them when they’ve been regularly fed foods they like.
Now you can have Pandora’s Box installed and still have your ship pets be a bit more interactable than before!
What this mod does
– Your pet desires goodies and its mood is shown when interacting with it. If it’s unhappy, toss some food on the ground and see if it eats it!
– While your pet is full, interacting with it will cause it to give you a gift in thanks!
– You can interact with your ship pet less frequently(35 second cooldown vs default 3), but during the cooldown it will not prevent you from interacting with other nearby things.
Differences from the default Pets Are Useful! behavior:
– Nudging removed. Instead, the Pandora’s Box implemented behavior of "pets become uninteractable for a few seconds" is used
Differences from Pandora’s Box behavior:
– Pets become uninteractable for 35 seconds rather than 3, the amount of time designated between interactions in PAU.
If you need your pet to move for reasons other than interacting with an object near them, try distracting them with the ball item purchased from Terramart or bribing them with food items!
Compatibility
– Should work fine with any mod that adds critters based on ship pet behavior without altering it, like pets added by custom race mods for their ship or even those spawned from Purchasable Pets houses or the pet spawners from Prop Pack!
– Since the pet gifts are pulled from a generic tier 1 treasure pool, if a mod adds things to that, your pet may give them to you as a gift!
– Will NOT work with any other mods other than Pandora’s Box that replace the groundPet.lua file. Only one of the files will be loaded and it might not be this one
– Does not require Pets Are Useful to function, but if you have both installed for some reason, this will load after it and be used instead.
