Pax Sinica et Romana
In an alternate narrative, Caesarion, the progeny of Cleopatra and Julius Caesar, flees to the Han dynasty, where he eventually ascends to imperial rule. After the collapse of the Western Roman Empire, waves of Roman refugees seek sanctuary along the northern coasts of China, sparking a cultural fusion that crystallizes into the Serican Empire. This hybrid civilization, blending Roman and Han traditions, embraces Orthodox Christianity as its state religion.
However, within Serica’s borders, tensions emerge as a faction, the monastic order of Xinzhong, asserts itself as the last lineage of the Han dynasty, aiming to purge Roman influences. The Mongol invasions, while tempered by the unified military traditions of Rome and Han, still result in territorial losses for the empire.
Meanwhile, Roman settlers contribute to the unification of Japan, birthing the maritime powerhouse of Nihon. This mod delves into the intricate tapestry of Serica’s geopolitical landscape, where the convergence of Roman and Han legacies shapes a world marked by cultural dynamism, religious complexities, and strategic alliances.
