Gotta go fast!

Sonic the Hedgehog makes his way to A Hat in Time. Collect Time Pieces and kick some bad guys’ butt WITH STYLE!

Comes with a Sonic Speed ability for the cost of losing Kid’s Hatt, but worry not. I made a custom Helper Hat for Sonic exclusively, so you don’t have to kiss that ability goodbye! (Not recommended for other characters, unless you want hovering badges around your hat.)

I am aware that the Rigging is far from perfect, but considering Sonic’s inhumane proportions and the difference in size it’s impressive to fit him over Hat Kid at all. You can switch to Sonic in the Hub, he’s waiting between the giant screen and the vault of Time Pieces.

Those following bugs can not be fixed at my current point of modding knowledge:

Giant Scooter, whenever you ride the scooter it’s gonna be ginormous.

Wacky Animations, performing a double jump, grabbing a ledge or opening doors in Vanessa’s Manor can cause some displeasing animation/physics issues.

Cinematic Events, using a separate Sonic NPC model makes cutscenes work more nicely. However, cinematic events (Opening, Mafia Boss Aftermath with Mustache Girl, Ending) function completely different, causing Sonic to get pressed together into Hat Kid’s size.

Super Sonic Title Screen + Swap, Having Super Sonic equipped while saving & quitting, or swapping to Hat/Bow Kid after any Act, causes Hat/Bow Kid to "wear" Super Sonic as an outfit on the Title Screen and after you swapped back to her, which makes you invincible but it looks really stupid. I recommend using a Title Screen Mod so it can’t appear on there at least.

In order to fit Sonic’s long legs into Hat Kid’s tiny leg animations, Sonic’s mesh had to be downscaled to be smaller than Hat Kid and the character base/Actor itself had to be upscaled to Sonic’s initial size. His feet didn’t stick to the ground and were hovering in the air when using the intended Mesh size, which made animations like the Smug Dance look horribly off. But therefore it partially caused other issues like the bugs mentioned above.

(February 7th 2020 Pre-Release Update Note: During my work on this Mod, the mesh size has been increased so the Scaling doesn’t have to be so huge. Sonic’s feet just move a little bit unrealistic now but some other issues have been fixed/eased up by taking this measure.)

For Modders: If you feel like fixing (some of) those issues, feel free to do so and let me know so I can continue to learn modding for this game.
