Dynamic Battle Music – WAW Pacific Edition
Greetings, the Pacific Theatre version.
I’m no good with all those template stuff and I am more of a "push concepts" guy but if you want to make your own version, I have compiled a unity package for it. If you are savvy with scripting you can go ahead and mess about and maybe even improve it because I was running around so to speak for the last stretch of the scripting process. There is still ground for alternative approaches to detecting "combat", mine was simply if an enemy can see you in a certain range. Maybe you could check if the enemy has also targeted you because that might help with like spec-ops stuff where I’m sure you wouldn’t want it to be playing combat music just by being near an enemy that can see you. I will look into that myself but I work in random bursts of motivation.
This is the link, make sure you have the latest RFTools in your Unity project and make sure to configure the mutator first and all the other bits that uniquely identifies your version of the mod. Thumbnails should be 1000×1000 pixels but the game will cut a bit of it so make sure the important visuals are near the center.

There are six variables you can configure:
– Combat Check Interval – is the interval it will run the algorithm for checking if you are in combat. I made this just in case I might lag with it.
– Enemy Check Range – is the range it will check for enemies.
– Combat to Calm Transition Cooldown – is the cooldown time it will start ticking down from before switching to calm when in combat. I made this because it would haphazardly jump back and forth from calm to combat as soon as I am not in anyone’s sight. So this will keep the combat state until the timer is done ticking before switching to calm state.
– Crossfade Duration: is the transition time for switching music states.
– Fadeout Duration: is the transition time for when the game ends.
– Music Start Delay: is the delay before the first piece of music plays.
