Description:

This mod is a patch for the BYOS standalone (Non-FU) and BYOS Good Game’s changes mods, intended to fix several bugs and make building your own ship more intuitive and accessible.

What this mod adds:

– Replaces the default BYOS wooden-scaffold template with a sleek new buildable ship, which includes its own scaffolding underneath to make building easier.

– A new crafting station, the "Ship Equipment Console" which comes included with your buildable ship and can also be crafted at a Tier 3 Inventor’s table. You can purchase vanilla ship objects here such as teleporters, captain’s chairs, fuel hatches, etc. as well as booster flames to decorate your ship. Additionally, there is a limited assortment of blocks for sale to help you get started building right away. Sloped Glass Panel blocks can notably be purchased from here, which are uncraftable in vanilla. This station is a re-imagining of the scrapped "Research Station" found in the vanilla files.

– New item icons for all these vanilla objects that were missing them. The new ship booster flame objects use animations that have been adjusted to better line up with the block grid and accomodate smaller-sized blocks too.

What this mod fixes:

– All vanilla ships and ship upgrades now work 100% vanilla. Due to the way the original BYOS mod is implemented, it introduces buggy behavior with vanilla ships where non-residual blockkey objects get removed upon ship upgrades. This fix for example, makes it so any ship lights that spawned with your ship will no longer disappear after upgrading.

– Upgrading from a vanilla ship to BYOS properly removes all residual objects from previous upgrades. This is done using a "preBYOS" (as denoted in the code) intermediary ship upgrade that overwrites all residual blockkey objects with non-residual counterparts at the same exact position.

– The BYOS upgrade quest dialogue was rewritten to be more concise and not extend beyond the dialogue box.

How to get started building your own ship:

– Locate the NPC underneath the Outpost and give him a dubloon to complete his quest.

– Alternatively, use the "/spawnitem byos" command to directly upgrade your ship via an item. Also "/setspawnpoint" can be used to change your teleporter spawn position.

Important Note:

upgrading to a BYOS will irreversibly replace your old ship, leaving all your old blocks and decorations floating in the air. I highly recommend completely cleaning out your old ship before upgrading to the new one.
Another important note: Placing two S.A.I.L. stations at the same time will crash your game. Only ever have one of these out at a given time.

This mod was tested using vanilla players and vanilla ships. This mod is likely not compatible with modded ships or races. If your player or ship is corrupt, most likely it is because two SAILs exist on your ship. You will have to look up how to delete your shipworld or remove one of the SAILs.
