旧日本海军天辻（あまつじ）是于1939年下水的由高雄级改造而来的重巡。其主要任务是为了在战场的大后方作为“机动指挥部”而存在的一型特种指挥舰，该级共两艘：一号舰 天辻（あまつじ）二号舰栗尾（かさお）
本次展示的是1942年近代化改造完毕的天辻号。因其作为指挥舰而存在，故较与其前身高雄级，无论是适航性还是防护等都有所不同或改进。其高耸的舰桥和先进的通讯技术可以在任何环境下都能胜任其指挥的任务。其较其他指挥舰更优秀的武备也能在应急情况下有一定的自保能力。
总之，这是一型指挥能力出众，而其他方面较为平庸的重巡。没能摆脱日本重巡的众多缺点的设计也为其的沉没和航巡化改造埋下伏笔。

This time, we are showcasing the modernized Tsuji in 1942. Due to its existence as a command ship, it is different or improved in terms of airworthiness and protection compared to its predecessor, the male class. Its towering bridge and advanced communication technology can perform the tasks it commands in any environment. Its superior armament compared to other command ships can also provide a certain degree of self-protection capability in emergency situations.
In short, this is a type of heavy patrol with outstanding command ability, while other aspects are relatively mediocre. The design that failed to overcome the numerous shortcomings of Japan’s heavy patrol also laid the groundwork for its sinking and aviation patrol transformation.
