Description:

This mod adds Taharqa, a new leader for Egypt and Nubia who specializes in patronizing building efforts through gold and faith. In addition, he brings the Temple Town unique district, allowing him to generate these yields effectively to speed development of new and established cities alike.

Taharqa was the second Nubian pharaoh to rule Egypt after the conquest of his father, Piye. Despite a rocky ascension to power, and a rule marked by war with the nearby Assyrian empire, it was also characterized by a renaissance of art and culture. The empire flourished through the strong central government and the extra land conquered by Piye, and the cultures of the Nubian and Egyptian people mixed, reviving the old glories of Egyptian religion and art. Taharqa was particularly known for his sponsorship of the Temple of Amun, which allowed its restoration to its former glory. In addition, newer temples built under his rule served as centers of government, production, and redistribution, and were known as "Temple Towns".

This was supposed to be part of the Sahara Modder Pass, but i was extremely busy and so it’s very late. Check out the other Modder Pass leaders and join us at https://discord.gg/jSVhyBYvZR.

Thanks to JNR, MC, and Chrisy for helping me to design the Temple Town. All assets in this are entirely designed and modeled by me, although for the Temple of Amun I drew heavy inspiration from the Nubia scenario’s equivalent. Leader art was AI generated by Phantagonist, thanks to him for that.

Known bug: Leader art does not show in game loading screen for Egypt variant of Taharqa. I could probably fix this but I just wanted to get this mod out since I have been working on it for a long time, I will probably fix it in the future.
