Expedient: Wastepack Solution
Just curious why there’s only one solution for toxic wastepack, letting player can do nothing until obtain the nanostructuring chip.
Strange right? So here are some alternatives to deal with toxic wastepack in early game, at a cost of something else other than nanostructuring chip.
Completely turn wastepack into ash at crematorium, all toxic matters are burned off, no more side effects. To make sure it’s totally detoxified, this require significant labour and auxiliary chemfuel.
1 toxic wastepack + 10 chemfuel + 100 work to make = nothing
Manually dismantle a batch of toxic packages at fabrication bench, very efficient. However it will pollute the devices that must be replaced.
10 toxic wastepack + 1 spacer component + 50 work to make = nothing
Refine wastepack at biofuel refinery, this will turn toxic wastepack into refined toxic wastepack. Refined toxic wastepack is lighter, less toxic, but more flammable and easier to deteriorate.
1 toxic wastepack + 40 work to make = 1 refined toxic wastepack
refined toxic wastepacks are:
- halve weight
- halve polluted tiles when dissolved
- stack limit increase to 10
- double flammability
- double deteriorate rate
- cannot be atomized
I mean…Why not? Just do not eat too much.
If ate wastepack:
- 0.1 nutrient value
- -30 mood in 1 day
- 99% get food poisoning
- Increase toxic buildup by 60%, which will directly lead to serious stage
NOTICE: because toxic wastepack now has nutrient value, it will appear in your pawn’s dinner menu. Though I set it to desperate only and very low priority (-99, that’s far enough), you may still want to disable it in food restriction in case of eating by mistake.
