=============================================================

RISE OF THE REPUBLIC

=============================================================
Rome -> Roman Republic
Carthage -> Carthago
Aequi -> Aequicoloi
Agyrion -> Kingdom of Agyrion
Syracuse -> Kingdom of Syracuse
Iolei -> Iolei Confederation
Akragas -> Kingdom of Akragas
Agyrion -> Kingdom of Agyrion
Rhegium -> Regium
Bturiges -> Bituriges Cubi

(Only minor Changes, there is really not much known about this time period, most factions are really just some tribes or city States)

=============================================================

GRAND CAMPAIGN

=============================================================

Major Factions: (Basically just foreign names and additional descriptions)

Rome -> Roman Republic
Sparta -> Lacedaemon
Egypt -> Ptolemaic Kingdom
+Cyprus -> Kingdom of Cyprus
Pontus -> Kingdom of Pontos
Iceni -> Iceni Kingdom
Galatia -> Kingdom of Galatia
Epirus -> Kingdom of Epirus
Macedon -> Macedonian Kingdom
Kimmeria -> Bosporan Kingdom
Carthage -> Carthago
Baktria -> Graeco-Baktrian Empire
+Nova Carthago -> Principality of Mauretania (I still don’t know what’s up with this Nova Carthago crap, they are not even in charge of Qart Hadast, which IS Nova Carthago) (Fun Fact: technically Qart Hadast translates into Carthago, which means "New City", so Nova Carthago would mean "New New City")
+Libya -> Libyan Principalities (there was no " semi independent Libyan state" inside Carthage)
Parthia -> Parthian Empire
Syracuse -> Kingdom of Syracuse
Seleucid -> Seleucid Empire
Colchis -> Kingdom of Colchis

Satrapies of the Seleucid Empire: (It got a bit tricky here. Most of the factions were just invented by CA to make the Eastern part of the map more diverse, because normally all of them would belong to the Seleucid Empire. However factions like "Persia" are just stupid and horribly incorrect. Therefore I decided to rename some of the factions into Principalities + the region they are placed in. It’s still not 100% accurate, but less confusing than CA’s ♥♥♥♥♥ names.)

Sardes -> Kingdom of Lydia
Qidri -> Qedarite Confedaration
Media -> Babylonia (Median Empire and Babylonia were already gone a long time ago, but the Greeks still refer to this Region as Babylonia)
Drangiana -> Drangians (Basically just another tribe)
Parthava -> Parthian Principalities (Parthava is the self-designation of the Parthians and their language, however it is stated, that parthian
princes were Satraps in the Seleucid Empire)
Aria -> Principality of Aria
Persia -> Persian Principalities (Probably the most confusing, Parthia is the successor to the Persian Empire. The faction "Persia" is just placed in the Province of "Persis")
Arachosia -> Harauti

Eastern Factions:

Media Atropatene -> Atropatene
Kartli -> Kingdom of Iberia
Bythinia -> Kingdom of Bythinia
Ardhan -> Kingdom of Albania
Cappadocia -> Kingdom of Cappadocia

Arab factions:

Nabatea -> Nabatei Tribes
Gerrhae -> Kingdom of Gerrha
Himyar -> Himyarite Kingdom
Mascat -> Kingdom of Oman
Ma’in -> Kingdom of Ma’in

African Kingdoms:
Axum -> Kingdom of Axum
Cyrenaica -> Kingdom of Cyrene
Nabatea -> Nabatei
Kush -> Kingdom of Kush

Etc.:
Nori -> Kingdom of Noricum
Ebdani -> Eblani
Trapezos -> Kingdom of Trapezos
Etruscan League -> Etruscan Separatists (Basically non-existent in real history, the Etruscan League was only a political party with no millitary power at all. When Rome 2 starts, the Etruscans would normally be eradicated)

=============================================================================

AURELIAN CAMPAIGN

=============================================================================
New Names for the Aurelian Campaign:

Roman factions:

Rome -> Roman Usurpers (Aurelian was not the legitimized Emperor at the start of the Campaign, it was Quintullus!)
Roman Pretenders -> Roman Empire

Gallic Rome -> Gallic Empire
Palmyra -> Palmyrene Empire
Mauretania -> Province of Mauretania
Hispania. -> Province of Hispania
Lydia -> Province of Asia
Lusitania -> Province of Lusitania
Galatia -> Province of Galatia
Britannia -> Province of Britannia

Babarians: (Why did they use latin names for the factions? They didn’t use them in Attila, duh)

Vandali -> Vandals
Saxoni -> Saxons
Langobardi -> Longobards
Heruli -> Herules
Gothi -> Goths
Franci -> Franks
Ebdani -> Eblani
Caledonii -> Caledonian Confederation
Baktria -> Province of Bakhtar
Alani -> Alans

Eastern factions:

Sassanin Empire -> Sasanin Empire
Sakastan -> Province of Sakastan
Kwarezm -> Province of Kwarezm
Margiana -> Province of Margiana

Etc.:

Media -> Asoristan
Colchis -> Lazica
Bosporou -> Bosporan Kingdom

=============================================================

AUGUSTUS CAMPAIGN

=============================================================
This was even Harder, than the Grand/Main Campaign.

The Problem with the Imperator Augustus Campaign is, that it’s Scenario already is incorrect as hell.
Too many Tribes in western Africa, (it was all one big Client State), too many Factions in Gaul and still those stupid Satrapies like "Persia"

And also they we’re missing Factions

Rhodes, Lycia , regnum Bospori, Palmyra and many more Client States of eastern Rome are missing. But i guess it was part of the balancing…

Furthermore there seem to be no consistent names for the different "Romes". Therefore i decided to call them Regnum + Genitive of their dictator. I think thats the most likely way they called eachothers territory.

Octavians Rome etc. ->

>Regnum Octaviani
>Regnum Lepidi
>Regnum Antonii

Thracae -> Kingdom of Thracia
Dacia- > Dacian Kingdom
Parthia -> Parthian Empire
Cantabria -> Cantabrian Confedaration

Pompeys Rome -> Factio Pompeii (Was thinking a lot about Pompey. Technically Pompey represents the power of the Senate (Roman Palpatine). He reformed the political Party of his father Gnaeus Pompeius Magnus, who was defeated by good old Caesar himself, and started his blockade on Sicily. He got support from huge portions of the Senate. Therefore he was able to afford his Legions and Fleets.
In my opinion Factio Pompeii, is the best way to show off Pompey’s representative role of the senate and his effort to succed as heir of his father. )

Iberia -> Province of Lusitania
Gaul -> Province of Gallia
Characene -> Kingdom of Characene
Paradene -> Indo-Parthian Principalities (Paradene was part of the Sassanin Empire, it simply didn’t exist yet)
Numidia -> Province of Numidia (The last numidian King died 46 BC, therefore i can’t call them kingdom of Numidia)
Judea -> Judean Kingdom (Wikipedia : in the 1st century BCE, by becoming first a tributary kingdom(…))

=============================================================
Why are Celts and Germanics untouched?
Well, i could’ve named them Suebi Tribes or something like that, but that would be a bit too streamlined. However, many of the Tribes and their Cities existing in Rome 2 are not historically accurate and non-existent anyway so renaming them would not change much.
