Description:

The Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia was an internationalist, one-party state which existed from 1945 until 1992. This map attempts to faithfully recreate Yugoslavia sometime around 1960 in roughly 1:45 scale using height map data.

This map is an update to my original Yugoslavia map: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2993607907

It also comes in an unpopulated version: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3210785676

The updates to this map have been made to provide an easier construction experience and to take advantage of the new tree varieties introduced since the first version was published.

There are now 26 customs posts, one small, six medium, and two large western ones as well as nine small, six medium, and two large eastern ones. Significant edits to the heightmap have been made to smooth city locations and make it easier to build. The terrain is still challenging, but there is now flat space for all 31 named settlements, with measurable improvements in Bosnia and the Adriatic Coast. Some rolling hills and river valleys have been flattened as well.

The road and rail network is completely new and much improved visually, with lower rail grades and a better road system. It is still based on the historical networks, and if anything, the accuracy is now improved. The final change is to the terrain. Tree cover is significantly thicker than on the original map and the new tree varieties have been added. There are about a dozen different forest mixtures that provide significant visual differences and highlight the distinct regional climates. The Adriatic Coast in particular, has been heavily edited, with rock formations and elevation variation in plant species.
