Improved Crowbar Mod

Aims to improve upon the currently available Crowbar addons by including many requested features, that make using this weapon much more comfortable and useful.

Ever wanted to feel like Gordon Freeman?
Are you disappointed by the lack of melee weapons in HL:A?
Do you believe you deserve your neighbour’s property more than they do?

This is a mod just for YOU!


Controls

Pressing "Arm Grenade" button on your dominant hand activates/deactivates the Crowbar

– Swing the Crowbar at high-enough speed to attack

– Crowbar doesn’t have to be held by pressing the trigger button at all times

– While the Crowbar is active, guns cannot be equipped and vice-versa

– Cannot equip the Crowbar when holding a prop in dominant hand

– Crowbar can be freely moved to the other hand; Two-handed is supported


Features
  • Enable the mod in "Addons" menu and then simply begin the Campaign from any chapter by hitting the "Start New Game with Addons" button;

    Refer to Controls above, for details on how to use the Crowbar

  • It is recommended to disable all other addons, to avoid possible compatibility issues
  • Mod is optimised for use only in the Campaign; All-maps support will be added later
  • Left-Handed is supported
  • Smooth Locomotion & Smooth Turn recommended for most immersive experience;
    Normal Difficulty recommended
  • Particle effects & Sounds depending on what the player is hitting(NPC, prop,…); Directional particles
  • Crowbar doesn’t get dropped when attacked by Zombies; Blocking bullets is possible
  • Tuned damage for different NPC types, to assure none is too easy or too hard to kill
  • Dead enemies can still be attacked
  • And more…


Limitations
  • Cannot leave a level with the Crowbar active(automatic holstering implemented, but keep this in mind)
  • Cannot save/load while the Crowbar is in "held, but player doesn’t have to press button" state
  • Flashlight is disabled while Crowbar is active, but it works in sections of the campaign where it’s required.
  • Double-barrel shotgun upgrade is given to the player for free;
  • If the Crowbar can’t be disabled/activated after save is loaded, run the command "ent_fire @Activate_Crowbar enable" and re-equip the Crowbar(fixed in playtest version)
  • If guns aren’t given to the player after level is changed; re-equip the Crowbar(even mutliple times)
