Research Catamaran R.S.V. Alston w/ ROV
The R.S.V Alston was launched in 2023 after two years of R&D by OMUA (Oceanic Marine Underwater Agency), a (fictional) multinational marine and research agency. The sleek design allows for a top speed of 30 knots, and the wide catamaran hull gives stability in rough conditions. Outfitted with the latest generation of SAAP CFI2R, a remote battery operated ROV, the Alston can complete underwater research and light salvage. The cabin is outfitted with a bridge, ROV operation centre, and crew area with bunk and small lounge. Intended for small crews and short trips, the Alston is manned a standard operations crew of 3 and up to 3 other staff. As with all OMUA vessels, all systems are designed to be operated by a 1-man crew, in case of emergencies.
