Description:
Summary

This mod is aimed specifically at Random Worlds and requires Holy Fury. It adds 13 fantasy cultures and 4 human cultures to the world. Each "race" has a pool of static portraits to randomly draw from much like the animal cultures in Holy Fury. World generation and how cultures are placed has also been changed.

Because I made this to be as compatible with other mods as possible and didn’t want the mod "kitchen sinked" things like long life spans, special traits, special events, special actions, Elves and Dwarves disliking each other, and so on aren’t a thing. This is NOT a fantasy conversion. This is setup to complement Animal Kingdoms with each race as mostly neutral. It is a base for you use in conjunction with other mods or for use with sub mods.

All of these portraits were drawn by Silfae from the Paradox forums and originally used in the amazing total conversion Warhammer mod Geheimnisnacht. As such they all have the same art style and fit together quite well. My mod uses these portraits with his permission.

This mod has 4 options for the Culture randomization setting in a Random World.

Fantastical Kingdoms: Only the 17 cultures from this mod will be used. No default cultures will spawn anywhere in the world.
Fantastical Animals: The 17 cultures from this mod and all the Holy Fury animal cultures will be used. No default cultures will spawn anywhere in the world.
Defaults & Fantasy: The 13 fantasy cultures are joined by humans that use the default portraits and cultures (still Random Worlded of course).
Fantastical Hot Pot: Humans using the default cultures and portraits, 13 fantasy cultures, and all the animal cultures will be used.

Fantasy Cultures:

Beastman
Dark Elf
Demon
Dwarf
High Elf
Kobold
Lizardman
Mummy
Naga
Orc
Spriggan
Vampire
Wood Elf

Human Cultures

Noble themed
Tribal themed
Oriental themed
Pirate themed

Compatibility

Due to the nature of how Random Worlds work I did have to change a few files to get this to function. This mod is NOT compatible with any other mods that change how Random Worlds work or that change animal cultures.
The 3 files changed are:
"common/alternate_start/00_settings.txt"
"common/alternate_start/01_spread.txt"
"common/cultures/99_animals.txt"
This means it should be compatible with almost every other mod as long as they don’t touch those 3 files. Even new cultures of your own should work fine in the Fantastical Kingdoms and Fantastical Animals culture randomization options.

FAQ

Q: Geheimnisnacht has layered portraits like in the default game, why are yours static?
A: Those portraits are over 800mb alone and I consider them to be a big draw to his mod and didn’t want to infringe too much. In addition several of my cultures mix and match things in a different way from Geheimnisnacht and tearing everything apart and reworking it would be a pain. Also general lazyness combined with a healthy dose of "good enough for me".

Q: You need to add XYZ race to the mix!
A: I have the artistic ability of a turnip. Go bug Silfae. However if you have a bunch of portraits that flow with what is already in the mod I have no problems with adding another culture. Cute animal eared humans with fluffy tails to be bullied CK2 style please.

Q: Why are my High Elves dying of old age at 70 or of cancer?! Why is there no magic?! Where are the werewolves?!
A: See my second paragraph, but basically make a submod or add it in yourself. I hate a lot of the mechanics and convoluted ways most fantasy mods implement things and how they tend to be buggy AF. This is meant to be a base you add whatever mods YOU want to. I’m fine with it staying low fantasy myself.
