After almost a month since I released my Greece Tweak mod, I’m happy to share with y’all the newest addition to the Civilizations Tweaked Collection: France! France is an interesting case for a series like this, while their civ ability isn’t bad by a long shot (rather it just needs a little more umph in its step), Black Queen Catherine could definitely benefit from some substantial buffs to make her stand on more even footing with her Magnificence counterpart as well as Eleanor. To that end, I’ve endeavored to make the following changes. I hope y’all like what I’ve done with this mod, and as always feedback is very much appreciated!

• Catherine’s Flying Squadron has been greatly buffed in two ways. The first buff is that the city that builds the Diplomatic Quarters receives +15% Science and Culture which increases to +25% once the Chancery is built. The intention with this change was to add something that fit with the overall thematic elements of the ability (diplomacy & espionage) but that also allowed the ability to have an impact outside of just spying. The second buff is a +50% production to Spies. The intention with this change is to allow Black Queen Catherine to quickly amass herself an entourage of spies to take advantage of her other spy related benefits.
• Grand Tour has been changed so that now Theater Square districts receive a standard adjacency bonus to other districts and Châteaux. In addition to that, cities with a Theater Square district receive a 20% Production bonus to building wonder from any era. The +100% tourism from all wonders remains unchanged. The intention with these changes were to solidify France as a cultural powerhouse once the Château has been unlocked and to make the Wonder production bonus more useful by not having it tied to wonders of specific eras.
• The Château is now unlocked at Medieval Faires rather than at Humanism. This change was inspired by the Civilizations Expanded mod (a big source of inspiration for me as a modder) so credit for this sort of idea goes to them. In addition to that, the Château now provide +2 Appeal instead of 1 and +1 Housing. The intention with these changes were to make the improvement available earlier for France and give it some use outside of gold and culture.
