Description:

This is a personal collection of fixes and remixes to Valve’s L4D2 animations for the firearms.

Long ago I had first intended for this little project to be the follow up to my ancient World Model Weapon Fixes from four years ago (which is now obsolete; this mod includes the features from it), but at the time I lacked the skill and understanding to achieve what I was setting out to do – the best I was able to achieve at the time was my Fire Axe Fix of Yore. Time has passed and eventually I come to pull off what I’ve always wanted to do. There’s still a few kinks, but you know me, when’s the last time I ever put out a mod that didn’t have a few bugs in it?

This replaces every firearm (except the Counterstrike ones), it’s mostly something for people who enjoy using the old school Valve animations, a Vanilla+ type mod if you will. They all have improved origin positions, pistols have walking animations(!), I’ve added things such as camera animation, jigglebones, bullet shell particles, muzzle smoke particles, animation blending like the L4D1 animations had, and fixed many small visual oddities (as well as adding a few new ones … ). While these fixes were all designed with the default view model FoV (51) in mind, these can be enjoyed at most values, though I should stress I didn’t test these much at values beyond 70.

This also adds two unused pistol models found in the modding resources, each chapter will see you using a differentiated pair from four models to choose from. You know how the texture for the pistols are called "4pistols"? That would be because at some point there was intended to be four pistols not counting the deagle. Here is the other two: A Ruger P-85 and a M1911. Sounds crazy, doesn’t it? You know those Starter Kits Valve released a while back? Look carefully inside them, the world models for the P-85 and 1911 are in there.

For those who’d prefer a more changelog description of what exactly this mod is doing, you can find one in a txt file inside the vpk. I’d put it here but it exceed Steam’s character limit for descriptions… there’s alot this mod has changed. Sorry ’bout that.

Try it out, I hope you like it.

Try these out with my high-res weapon textures, or the beta versions.
