Description:

Bare your best armor and steer the barque of history as you dictate the fates of England, France, Europe, or the World. Here presented is an assortment of flags/banners for those polities which participated in the Hundred Years’ War ("Guerre de Cent Ans"). All examples included in this package have been painstakingly ensured to be period-correct. The unique artistic style utilized is intended to mimic the hand-painted qualities, colour-palette, and imperfections of the era from which these banners hail.

The Steam Workshop unfortunately compresses any previews, severely affecting the quality; these look magnitudes better when actually viewed in-game.

The simple nature of this modification ensures its continuing compatibility with any future versions of Europa Universalis IV which do not fundamentally change the nature of flags/tags. Incompatibilities will arise should this mod be paired with any other modification which makes changes to country tags/flags. Place this modification after any other flag addons to ensure it has primacy over the others.

A version has been created which is explicitly compatible with Victorum Universalis (VU) containing additional content to fill-in the additional content this modification provides. It can be found here:

The heraldric charges which have been used are drawn directly out of the Armorial of King Louis XIII of France, published between A.D. 1610-1621; "Les noms et surnoms, qualitez, armes et seigneuries de tous les cardinaux, prelats et commandeurs de l’Ordre du St -Esprit, qui ont esté faicts par le très crestien roy de France et de Navarre, Louis XIII" Please feel free to view this work for yourself and appreciate the details: https://gallica.bnf.fr/ark:/12148/btv1b8551123b/f1.item.zoom

Further research was conducted using, but not strictly limited to, "Les nouvelles Croniques de France et d’Angleterre, faittes et compilées par Jehan Froissart" (Jean Froissart, A.D. 1337-1410)
