Description

The Soldier-class is a class of small frigates developed by Montria in response to the growing danger of Colefordian light shipping on their communications. These ships come with gargantuan for their size sails which allows them to effectvely chase and destroy the colefordian threats. This comes at a cost of mediocre firepower and survivability. Their scale and armament is similar to one of the Wanderer, so these ships can be deemed as mass-produced Wanderers. Their smaller size also allows for bettter maneuverability to effectvely counter the rotating opponent of any sort.
Their powerful guns on the gundeck are primarily used at close quarters to shred the opponent while the rest of the guns located higher on the weather deck can be used for extra range if needed.
Even despite the similar size to the Wanderer this ship is way more cramped on the inside making it one of the least comfortable conditions of Montrian navy.
This kind of ships is called The Hunter in the Montrian Navy uniting the Wanderer and the Soldier under it.

Beam: 9 meters.
Draft: 5 meters.
Mast Height: 36 meters.
Maximum speed: 14 knots


Armament

32 guns: 5+11 per broadside.
4 chasers: 2 bow, 2 stern.

Destructibility – masts collapse can collapse.
Yards turning to the wind AND manual sail.
Multiplayer optimisation.


Operation

Sailing
Find a handle on the helm’s left side, controls are labelled.

Firing
Find a handle of either ship’s broadsides.
Press 1 and wait for guns to roll out.
Hold [Trigger] to fire a salvo.
Which deck will fire is controlled via [2] [3] and [4].
Chasers and top deck are mouse aimed.


Notes

The Montrian Navy livery has been changed, so don’t be surprised by the changed appearance.
Lacks the rigging for optimisation sake.
Recommended to play at medium physics settings to avoid issues.
IF your sails appear to be stuck, swing the yards left to right and it usually helps.
Warning – while sailing in too extreme winds at full canvas the masts could collapse!
