1776 Revolutionary war 4 pounder Cannon
Calibers such as 4-pounders were used as an anti-personnel weapon and installed on a field carriage to maximize mobility. Depending on the service charge, they had a range of 1,200 to 1,500 yards. Lempriere’s Point Battery used 4-pounders on the wall facing inland to defend against an infantry attack.
