Description

The Valiance class light frigates are another generic Colefordian class of frigates similar to the Malevolence-class by their size and armament, but this time strictly purposed for the combat. The ship, being smaller, has larger broadside, and is incredibly cramped. These ships are also the first and the only ships in Colefordian navy to assume the placement of 12 2-pounder falconets.
The ships are considered the most beautiful frigates of the colefordian navy, and there is a reason for that. Despite their over-cramped look, the general scale and proportions make her stand out from at least the Malevolence with her large staysails and the square spanker.
While being just beautiful, they are samely deadly in battle being very maneuverable and with a large broadside they can effectively fight anything of their size, and outrun anything larger.
They are primarily fighting against for the Montrian Hunters being approximately similar speed and armament as them, also due to the falconets they are very effective during boarding and against smaller ships.
Sometimes the weather deck guns and falconets are being removed, making this ship a Post Ship, giving it more speed, they are run under the command of the Colefordian Post-captain rank and used as escorts for larger vessels and fleets as well as somewhat luxurious transports for high command (assuming guns are removed from the Cabin).

Length: 33 meters by the Weather deck.
Beam: 9 meters.
Draft: 5 meters.
Mast Height: 32.7 meters as of Mainmast.
Maximum speed: 14 knots.


Armament

30 guns: 11+4 per broadside + 6 Falconets.
4 chasers: 2 bow, 2 stern.


Features of Full Canvas

Animated Sails.
Destructibility – masts collapse affecting speed.
Yards turning to the wind AND can be manually angled for extra turn.
Multiplayer optimisation.


Operation

Sailing
Find a handle on the helm’s left side, controls are labelled.

Firing
Find a handle of either ship’s broadsides.
Press 1 and wait for guns to roll out.
Hold [Trigger] to fire a salvo.
Which deck will fire is controlled via [2] [3] and [4].
Chasers are mouse aimed.
Reloading is automatic and takes around 40 seconds.


Notes

The most detailed ship as of now.
Lacks the rigging for optimisation sake.
Recommended to play at low physics settings to avoid issues.
IF your sails appear to be stuck, swing the yards left to right and it usually helps, F2 is very helpful here too as sails behave worse.
Warning – while sailing in too extreme winds at full canvas the masts could collapse!
