Stall Removal Mod – Beta
Making stalling unnecessary and impossible.
Food now heals for 100%.
Stress reworked – now accumulates much more slowly, but is extraordinarily difficult to remove. This is supposed to be Lovecraftian, after all. Stress should not flow like water.
Stall timer vastly accelerated.
This is a beta. There’s likely many bugs and oversights. Kindly report them here https://steamcommunity.com/app/262060/discussions/4/1727575977523157052/ or in this mod’s discussion forum. I welcome any level of playtesting and feedback.
Includes a run speed mod because such mods are incompatible with this mod. Also I’ve had some issues getting rules.json to load – if you’re not running fast, it’s not loading properly, and the mod will flagrantly not work. If it bothers you, there’s a meta-mod to remove it.
Because food heals for 100%, there is little need to stall for health. Because you can’t repeatedly heal stress in battle, stalling for stress is impossible. Because stress accumulates slowly, a sudden stress spike can’t kill your run, so stress healing is unnecessary. Most stress damage reduced by 75%. Repeatable stress heals reduced by 80%. Due to the method I used, stress damage is displayed on skills as four times higher than it is. For example, don’t be scared of mockery or dark ritual. Try not to have a heart attack when you see the abbey and tavern prices. Former stress heal skills are only useful once a run, but should be good for emergencies.
The intended play style is to try to heal, but if it doesn’t work then you can fall back on food. Should occasionally but not often eat into feast supplies or be forced into a camp. If you don’t end up playing that way, kindly let me know, and tell me what went wrong.
Going to the stress shop should happen roughly one fourth as often, but the player should want to try to push that to five to save the ludicrous costs, and occasionally get afflicted due to taking the risk. Stress should accumulate slowly but once accumulated, feel strongly pressuring.
Parties without OCC/VES should be highly viable, except for bosses.
I also buffed vulnerability curse and stunning blow (by 20%), because if I get antsy if I’m not at least a little weird.
