Description:

Welcome to the Andada Small Caps font mod which, as the name suggests, replaces the vanilla UI fonts (Arial and Garamond) with the ‘small caps’ version of the Andada[www.1001fonts.com] family of fonts.

While it may not always be the most legible font out there for CK2, I think it really works well with the parchment background of most interfaces and menus. Besides I’ve played this game for more than a year’s-worth of hours so it’s not like I don’t already know the name of every title or the text of every event like it’s the back of my gauntlet-covered hand.

POTENTIAL ISSUE: I haven’t encountered this issue personally in the hour or so test playthrough I did using this font, but I would imagine that there may be instances where this mod makes the text for certain events too big to fit within the text box and thus may cut off the last few words. I assume that anyone playing CK2 at this point are probably hardened veterans who’ve seen every single event 1,000 times before so it shouldn’t be that much of an issue. Otherwise I recommend using something like Bigger Text Boxes that make event windows larger.

Compatibility

This should be compatible with most other non-font mods. Note that this only changes the UI font which means that mods that edit the map font like A Revolutionary Map Font should work fine with this.

This mod makes slight changes to the ‘game over’ window (shown in the 5th screenshot), to prevent the text in the top and bottom boxes from overlapping, which may cause issues if you play with mods that also alter it. If you’re fine with this minor graphical annoyance then you can simply delete the zz_andada_game_over.gui file from the interface folder in this mod.

This mod also makes slight alterations to the console window so that it continues to use the old Arial font. While Andada may look fancy when playing the game, I respect that it isn’t the most user friendly from a technical standpoint. This shouldn’t cause any compatibility issues though since I doubt there are many non-font mods out there that edit the console. Simply delete zz_andada_console.gui file from the interface folder if it causes problems.

This mod is both savegame and achievement compatible!
