"Configure Flags" turned ON
There are 4 arenas included in each map, and they must be chosen between manually. Only the first arena’s starting flags are enabled by default, the others must be switched to using the Configure Flags setting. The team starting flags are indicated by red and blue squares on the minimap, so switch your flags carefully before each match.

This is an idea I had been mulling over for a while, but only recently managed to get working. I always wanted a more methodical, slightly tactical experience in this game, but the Ravenfield bots always managed to find a way to undermine this effort. Now, by leveraging the no-respawn trait of Short Skirmish matches, and by creating very small, very circular indoor spaces, I think I’ve finally managed to wrestle the Ravenfield AI into behaving a bit like deathmatch AI and a tiny bit as if they’re in a SWAT match. I’m fairly pleased with the outcome.
Each arena took about 2-3 hours to make, which is blisteringly fast by my standards. No mission scripting or Ravenscript was used here, hence the need for manual flag configuration.
This map series was inspired by another workshop item called Research Lab . That map was very difficult to play on modes where bots respawned, but on one-life skirmish it became a strange sort of challenge to see how many enemies I could defeat before they massacred my boys in that one hallway crossfire point. Essentially, Sudden Deathmatch is an evolved version of that other map.
