Blackpowder Brigands of Bergerac Submod
Back in 3rd edition tabletop, Bretonnian Brigands could take firearms as weapons. Now, with the permission of the excellent Maffers, this submod adds these old school Bretonnian units to the Survivors of Bergeract mod: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2949836536&searchtext=bergerac
The submod adds Routiers, elite Brigands equipped with primitive handcannons (hey, the Vampire Coast have to be getting them from somewhere) to the roster of units that can be recruited by from Crownless Lords or the Brigand Base building chain. Like the other high level Brigand units, they come with 62 ld, 40 armour, Stalk and Vanguard Deployment. Combined with their hard-hitting but close range weapon and the Black Powder Aplenty ability, this makes them ideal as ambushers, whose first salvos will do serious damage to your enemies if positioned correctly. While they don’t want to be in melee if at all possible, their reasonable MA and relatively high MD should let them fight their way free if they get caught up. Currently relatively expensive at 850 gold, both for balance reasons and to represent their rarity in setting, though this may change based on player feedback.
Buffed by all the same technologies and character skills as the other Brigand missile units, they’ll add one more tool to Bertrand’s arsenal as he fights to improve the lives of the Bretonnian commoners.
