Traits: The Blood of Greek and Roman Gods for TFE
A version of Traits: The Blood of Greek Gods by Caracus for The Fallen Eagle. Credit to him for creating the original mod and for providing instructions to get this version started and a thank you for the permission to upload this variant for TFE.
Version 1.2:
-Adds a new rule to allow his traits to work with the Romans. Options include "Latin Heritage Only!" and "Latin Language Only!" This rule allows cultures from The Fallen Eagle that use cultural pillars of Latin to have characters that can spawn with the traits. Ex. Cultures like Gallo-Roman, Sardinian, Hispano-Roman. *The rule can work with vanilla.
-Adds one new option to his rule for the Greek traits. "Hellenistic Heritage Only!" This option only works for The Fallen Eagle. This option allows cultures from The Fallen Eagle that use Hellenistic culture pillars to have characters that can spawn with the traits. Ex. Cultures like Pontic, Syrian, and Cappadocian. *Use "Byzantine Heritage Only" for vanilla
-Spawn rates are nerfed because in TFE’s bookmarks there are more cultures with Latin in their cultural pillars as well as Hellenistic. Number differences are for "Exalted Blood" 50/10,000 -> 10/10,000 & "Heroic Blood" 10/10,000 -> 5/10,000 & "Blood of Legend" 2/10,000 -> 1/10,000. Don’t forget this applies per bloodline 😉
-Adds 2 decisions to solve the issue of not being able to select your demigod trait on custom rulers when using rules like "___ ___ Only!" Click here for an explanation of the new decisions
-Adds a scripted effect to solve the issue of traits not inheriting when using a rule like "____ ____ Only!" Click here to see how it’s done
-With this new mechanic I can now add a bit of flavor for the gods. I don’t encourage you to mix bloodlines because your character will be OP. But, if you tried, here is something to keep in mind. Click here to see why some traits won’t mix :p
-Fixes all errors and provides solutions for any bugs that were prevalent in the original mod when I first started working on this version for TFE
***This mod will not break other mods. But, the new scripted effect that handles trait inheritance will break if you have a mod that completely overwrites the child_birth_on_action file. As far as I know, only total conversion mods like EK2 do so.
- I don’t want to plagiarize Caracus’ entire description so for more details go to the original mod’s page for the framework
- This doesn’t require the original mod and should not be run with it. One will overwrite the other and create errors. Although this mod can work with vanilla given the usage of the correct rule. I would encourage you to use his version which is strictly for vanilla 🙂
- His other mod Traits: The Blood of Norse Gods can be used with TFE without any significant changes because TFE keeps the same definition of cultural pillars as vanilla for heritage_west/central/north_germanic.
- The icon’s art can be replaced by the same art Caracus linked over in his mod’s page. Just load it after this mod. It will only affect The Greek Pantheon and possibly omit Dionysus because I changed his name xD
- Load order for this can be anywhere. Though I usually throw it anywhere near other mods that add traits to be consistent and disciplined.
- Unless TFE ever changes heritage_latin or heritage_hellenistic for the cultures as they are defined as of 3/31/2024, this should continue to work with future versions of TFE.
- It’s OP. If Caracus ever balances his mod I will follow suit and copy the changes over.

+For update 1.3 I plan to thematically change the buffs The Roman Pantheon provides. Because, they are identical to The Greek Pantheon right now and only difference in name. This update will probably not come until June. Because I need to brainstorm AND play with the mod for a solid 200 years in game 😉
