Description:

Decorative blocks with a ship theme in mind

This mod is intended to provide some additional decorative blocks, to reduce time spent with mimics or decorations, and to provide some shapes that would be almost impossible to create with the in-game system. These were created with a ship detailing goal in mind, but they will look good many places.

This is partially intended as a compliment to the Mega Slopes Pack, and has additional hand rails to go along with the new slopes added in that mod.

Note that several of the items included, especially the cranes, have a very high vertex count, and could affect game performance on slower PCs.

Update 3/21/22

Added new items in a few categories, and added a new item type.

New anchor and chain parts (in a new menu inside "assorted decorations") :
Large chain capstan remodeled
Added large Chain windlass
Added large chain hawse pipes (through-the-deck ports)
Added new large anchors in hanging and pulled up (hawsed) styles
Added large chain swivel links and chain stoppers
Added all of the above for small-sized chains as well.
Small sized parts have separate chain blocks, to allow the chain to be custom painted

Radars menu renamed "radar and detection blocks" and new items added:
-Type 965 Radar, English Cold War era search radar
-Type 911 Radar Tracker, and base block – English tracking radar for the Seawolf missile, this is a functional radar tracker. The base block acts as a mounting and wireless receiver for it.
-Turret-mountable rangefinders – 11m, 13m, 15m, 17m, all are available in metal and alloy styles, may also add HA versions
-Armored cameras – 90Deg cameras meshed as side-mounted turret sights seen on some ship turrets, "heavy" and "medium" variants, and styles for flat and sloped (offset) walls available
-Armored Rx blisters – armored wireless receivers, these have a non-obtrusive mesh, and mount directly behind the armored cameras, prevent the need for a hole in the armor to attach to AI
-Armored periscopes – these are visual camera trackers meant to look good on top of turrets, there are versions for flat roofs, 1m slopes, and general slopes with the mesh extended downwards.

New Category – Re-styled AI components
These are wireless receivers, LWCs, and failsafes that are meant to mount unobtrusively near deck-mounted weapons like AA guns. They come in "under deck" and "bulwark" versions. They are meant to be used withe the "steel deck panels" and metal bulwarks that come in this mod, may look good in other places as well. A wall-mounted set is in the works as well.
– Wireless Rx blister – this is an armored wireless receiver with a small blister for a mesh, it is meant to surface-mount next to AI components, and not stick out like a sore thumb. Works well with the armored turret periscope parts.

Update 2/9/22

New update after a long break.

Added in new "gun director" block sets to the "radar and antenna blocks" section. These are close-to-historical representations of the rangefinder and sighting turrets used on many WWII era ships. The blocks consist of a central "turret" block, which acts as an armored wireless receiver, and has an over-sized mesh. There are also Armored rangefinder blocks, armored 90° radar blocks, and armored 90° camera blocks to represent the various radars and sighting systems on these turrets. Note that they are meant to be built in a very specific fashion to make the meshes line up right, while maintaining connection to the central receiver block. Prefabs are provided in the menus to help with this. Re-skinned turret bases are provided for all styles, and in the case of the US models, barbette tower blocks to go underneath the turret rings are provided. These have been split up, and include armored wireless receiver and LWC sections to allow for turret control. The following models are in this update, with more planned (although these turned out to be very time consuming). The stats are improved over in-game versions of the parts, with higher costs to match, I will be reviewing the numbers and may re-balance.

-7m and 10.5m rangefinder turrets from the Bismarck, both have radar but no camera, the 10.5m rangefinder acts as an 11m(!) unit in-game
-Mk 37 Gun Director – director for medium guns or secondary batteries 5m rangefinder, radar, and external sight unit, used on many US, and some British ships
-Mk 38 Gun Director – director for Main battery guns, 9m rangefinder, radar and periscope sight, carried on the Iowa and Alaska class ships (and possibly more)

Ammo crates – Decorative, and functional ammo box models have been added to place near deck-mounted AA guns. The "functional" ones act as a single ammo parts box, with a slight AC boost, still sorta dangerous though. They have been added to the "Assorted decorations" section

20mm AA ammo crate – modeled after US-style lockers for 20mm Oerlikon magazines
40mm AA Box stack – modeled after US -style 40mm Bofors ammo cases, comes as a stack of 9 boxes.

Prefabs – I got prefabs working properly, so along with the turret assemblies mentioned above, the prefab and subobject for the searchlight are now working right and included in this release.
